Biking Bliss!✨
This morning was a real hoot and a holler! It was our first day of in-school Balance Bike Club at Mill Creek Elementary School. It was nothing short of amazing. The little stars were all smiles as they hopped on, set off, and started exploring our "road."
We have made some minor adjustments to the program that will have a huge impact. We've included new traffic signs, more prominent awareness cones, and updated design layouts. With these new features, our riders will learn street etiquette and how to read traffic signs. Parents, watch out! You might have a little one as a backseat driver after they roll in Balance Bike Club.
One child, in particular, stood out to me. At first, she was a little unsure, and I could tell she was wondering what she was being asked to do. But with some encouragement and support, she found her footing and zipped around. She ended the session with a massive grin on her face. Seeing all the students' confidence grow right before our eyes was incredible.
The other coaches and I witnessed the children giggling, cheering each other on, and celebrating their newfound skills. It was clear that they were learning about balance and coordination. They also made strides in critical social and emotional skills like teamwork, empathy, and perseverance.
I can't wait for the later Mill Creek sessions, and the 12 other schools lined up through April. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to witness these little stars grow leaps and bounds before my eyes. What a treat!
If you'd like to join me and help bring the joy and confidence of balance biking to even more children, we'd love to have you volunteer with us! If interested, drop me a message. I promise an experience you will remember.
Let's roll!
