Boardman Lake Loop Trail

The Boardman Lake Loop Trail is a 4-mile non-motorized trail that circumvents Boardman Lake in Traverse City, Michigan. Known locally as the “BLT,” the trail connects several local businesses, public parks, and valuable community assets, including the Traverse Area District Library. Connecting the Community

TART’s staff, volunteers, and community members invested countless hours over several years to complete the Loop. For decades, the section of trail running along the east shore of Boardman Lake terminated at the southern end of Loop near Medalie Park. The project’s many stakeholders worked to continue the trail over a narrow section of the lake and along a substantial section of the western shore, ultimately connecting to existing trail infrastructure near 14th Street.
