Norte is Hiring - Program Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION: PROGRAM COORDINATOR 

Position Identification: School Coordinator; Class 3 position, full time, FLSA-exempt position.

Norte is seeking a Program Coordinator. This key role would support the mission of Norte Youth Cycling with a focus on programmatic content and direction, implementation, impact evaluation, and reporting. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

The Program Coordinator will be an essential part of our mission to empower individuals to be physically active and engaged with their communities. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee:

    • Norte programs with a focus on Spring & Fall Mountain Bike and Summer Bike Camp. 

    • Alignment between programs, community needs, and the Norte mission and  strategic plan.  

    • Program implementation   

    • Programmatic impact evaluation, reporting, and adjustments  

    • Communication with the community, coaches, participants, and program partners

    • Registration and program communication platforms 

    • Weather cancellations and related safety protocol and policies

  • Secure, onboard, train, and support Norte Coaches and program volunteers

  • Oversee satellite locations, alignment, impact, and people and processes

  • Create programmatic financial projections, track program trends, and adjust offerings 

  • Create and deliver presentations and program reports

  • Prepare program and coach surveys and final reports 

  • Assist with program-related grant applications, implementation, and reporting, when asked

  • Finalize the coach manual, parent manual, and overarching program policies

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred:

    • Bachelor's degree in education, communications, or a related field preferred.

    • 5+ years relevant experience preferred. 

    • 2+ year supervisory experience preferred. 

  • Strong project management skills with consistent, timely, and complete work products

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners

  • Proficient with Google Suite, Salesforce, and the ability to learn a variety of platforms for data tracking, program enrollment, reporting, and financial projections 

  • Superior social and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to engage, encourage, and communicate with people of all ages and abilities

  • Extremely detail-oriented with strong organization and time management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Effective problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work nights and weekend, when necessary/required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Comfortably ride 8-10 miles on streets and trails

  • Comfortably repair, maintain, and work on bikes

  • Occasionally lift and carry small balance bikes

COMPENSATION

The Program  Coordinator position is a Class 3 full-time FLSA-exempt position with a starting annual salary of $44,500 - 50,000.

BENEFITS

  • Medical insurance for the Norte employee is provided at 100% - additional family members can be added but are paid for 100% by the employed. This benefit begins on the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

  • Paid Time Off - accrued at a rate of .0385 per hour worked during year 0-3

  • Personal Health Time - 40 hours per year

  • 10 paid holidays per year - at times this may increase depending on the calendar 

  • 401K - Norte contributes 3% to employee 401K accounts ( after 90 days)

  • Flexible work schedule

  • This position:

    • Reports to the Director of Operations

    • Oversees program coaches, volunteers, and participants

    • Works closely with Norte Staff, Board, parents, program participants, and community members and partners  

A TYPICAL DAY AT NORTE

On a typical day, the Program Coordinator  will work with core staff, Norte coaches, volunteers, and program participants in Norte's business casual environment at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center. In-person work is preferred.  Some remote work is possible after a pre-approved schedule has been established. In addition, the position will include a wide variety of events and community initiatives at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center, regional trailheads, local schools, community partners, and Norte-sponsored outreach events. 

This position requires an individual who can shift seamlessly between engaging program participants, coaches, and others, and efficiently moving administrative and operational processes forward. Decision making skills are essential. Our work is fast paced, rewarding, and joyful. 

Some evening and weekend work is required. This will be communicated prior and work hours during the typical week will be flexed to accommodate this time.
