Are you ready for the funnest fall tradition northern Michigan has to offer? Cranksgiving 2022 is coming up Sunday, Nov. 13. We will once again work with the great Food Rescue of Northwest Michigan and area pantries to deliver a rewarding and fun opportunity to all you turkeys.

If you’ve never rolled with Cranksgiving before — it’s part bicycle ride, part food drive that happens across the nation during November to benefit local charities and families as they prepare for Thanksgiving.

WHEN: Sunday, November 13, noon to 2 pm.
WHERE: The Norte Wheelhouse (the very orange building on the north side of the civic center).
WHAT: Team up and do some good for your community by gathering food items for the Food Rescue of Northwest Michigan.
HOW IT WORKS: Each team agrees to purchase a minimum of $25 of food, collected by bike, from the Cranskgiving manifest. We will distribute the manifest on Sunday at the Wheelhouse. We estimate that each team will need a minimum of 45 minutes to bike out and purchase the items. When they return to the Wheelhouse, we will pack the food into the Food Rescue truck for delivery to pantries. There will be hot beverages and cookies at the Wheelhouse.

We could use a few adventurous volunteers to help sort food items as riders come back to the Wheelhouse. We will need to organize foods into boxes to give to Goodwill. If you can lend a hand, please sign up here.
