Adventure Bike Club (ABC) is a spring and fall after-school program offered by Norte's Safe Routes to School that is designed to challenge and inspire elementary and middle school students to discover new adventures through biking. Like our Summer Bike Camp, Youth Mountain Bike Club, and Balance Bike Club, ABC boosts confidence and teaches responsible riding skills in a fun and enjoyable way. To participate in ABC, riders should be able to comfortably ride four miles and arrive with a positive attitude.

Thanks to the generous financial support of our Title Sponsor, Higher Grounds Trading Co., and supporting sponsors, Taproot Cider House , and The Filling Station, ABC is accessible to a wider range of riders and families.

SCHEDULE & LOCATIONS

Adventure Bike Club meets twice a week for three weeks. Sessions are 90 minutes and the cost is $85 per rider. Start times are reflected below. The Adventure Bike Club season begins on May 7 and runs until May 23.

Fall locations include:

  • Civic Center Wheelhouse: 4:30 pm - 6 pm on Monday and Wednesday (1st–5th grade, all schools)

  • Immaculate Conception: 2:30 pm - 4 pm on Monday and Wednesday (1st—5th grade)

  • Eastern Elementary School: 4 pm - 5:30 pm on Tuesday and Thursday (1st—5th grade)

  • Central Grade School: 3:15 pm - 4:45 pm on Tuesday and Thursday (1st—5th grade)

Locations are subject to change with the availability of coaching. If you don’t see your school listed, or this isn’t the program you’re looking for, please consider one of our other programs at programs@norteyouthcycling.org.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Thanks to our generous donors and sponsors, Norte is proud to provide youth scholarships to ensure that all families can participate in our programs. We encourage families to apply for scholarships prior to registering at Scholarship Application.

No bike? No problem. We have program bikes available for participants who need one. You can also check out a bike for the long term through the Norte Youth Cycling Kids’ Bike Library. 

COACHES WANTED!

Norte Youth Cycling seeks passionate, positive, and dedicated individuals to join our coaching team. As a coach, you will work with a small squad of young riders, focusing on motivating and mentoring them and ensuring their safety and well-being. Experience coaching is not required. We provide training for all coaches.

Cancellation Policy?

Cancellations Initiated by the Parent, Guardian, or Participant

  • Norte will issue a 100% refund (minus a $10 service fee) for cancellations made 30 days before the program or camp session start date.

  • Norte will issue a 75% refund for cancellations made 20 days before the program or camp session start date.

  • Norte will issue a 50% refund for cancellations made 14 days before the program or camp session date.

  • Norte will not issue a refund for cancellations made within 13 days of the program or camp session start date.

Cancellations Initiated by State or Local Authorities (e.g., COVID-19, Emergency)

  • Norte will issue a 100% refund (minus a $10 service fee) if a program or event cannot begin due to State or local policies.

  • Norte will issue a prorated refund (minus a $10 service fee) if State or local policies prohibit the continuation of a program.
